Book Rating System

I’ll bet you are wondering about all the stars you keep seeing.  Well, wonder no more — this page is here to explain them to you.
Gold Star This is the highest rating I give. It means that a book was so good that it might have been life-changing.  Think of it like the coveted gold star from preschool.

Blue Star Like a blue ribbon at the county fair, this rating is for books that are very good and that I recommend highly.

Red Star This is the rating I give to books that I consider good, and that I generally recommend.

Green Star I give this rating to books that I consider fair.  Not everyone will like them.

Purple Star This rating is for books which have some redeeming qualities, but which I cannot recommend.

White Star This is the rating I give to books I consider to be poor or bad.

Black Star I give this rating to books so bad that I wish I could give them negative stars. I have often been unable to finish books that I have given black stars.
